FRAME :

The glasses are made from ethically sourced ox and buffalo horn [for more information about our horn sources please visit www.gucewicz.com/horn ].

Because horn is a natural material, every piece has unique patternation and markings. We cannot guarantee that any pair of glasses will look exactly like another pair you may have seen, however we do take great care when selecting pieces of horn, ensuring both the highest quality and the desired best appearance.

METAL PARTS :

The screws and hinges are made from stainless steel. If screws are working “loose” please use the provided screwdriver to tighten the screws, taking care not to scratch the frame material, metal or lenses. 

LENSES :

Made from Nylon / CR39 high grade lens Resins. Category 4 UV Protective. Always use lens cloth provided to keep lenses clear. 

GLASSES CASES:

Made from reused offcuts of real leather, reprocessed into eyewear cases. Acrylic based plasticisers were used to treat the surface of the leather to make it waterproof. The felt lining to the case is 100% PET, Made from recycled plastic bottles. 

OUTERBOX:

Is fully recyclable. But please remove the foam inlay trays and reuse this box for other purposes where possible. 

INLAY TRAY:

This cornstarch foam interior is entirely home-compostable without the need of chemicals of industrial processing : Just put it in the sink, add water and it will dissolve into cornstarch and wash away. 

LENS CLOTH:

Is 100% PET, Made from recycled plastic bottles.

NFC CHIPS :

Our NFC [Near Field Communication] chips do not store any power source so your glasses do not need ‘charging’. Instead, the chips draw power from the device that reads them, thanks to magnetic induction. When a phone gets close enough to our chip, it energizes it and transfers data from the chip to the phone. Our NFC chips are designed so they cannot track, copy or transfer any personal information, phone or location data : They are entirely passive in this regard. Our NFC chips are manufactured in Shenzhen, China.
