THE DE-GENERATIONS CAMPAIGN WAS SHOT ON A SONY MAVICA MVC-FD73 (1999), WHERE IMAGES ARE SAVED DIRECTLY ONTO 3.5" FLOPPY DISKS... This process produces wonderfully low-resolution image quality with unexpectedly beautiful colors. The display screen of the camera adds a texture to the images, tactility being a major theme to collection’s designs.
T-Generations celebrates the aesthetics of imperfection and endurance. Chunky, pre-destroyed frames built to withstand time.
Low-resolution imagery captured on a Sony Mavica MVC-FD73 (1999) becomes a visual metaphor for degeneration and longevity. Outdated technology that persists, like the frames themselves.
“D-Generation” embodies the beauty of erosion and the art of the worn. Imperfection redefined. Enduring.
The campaign name, DE-GENERATIONS is a play on the name of the brand, T-Generations. T-Gen creates chunky, pre-destroyed eyewear carved from slabs of titanium in Japan since 2023. These glasses are coated with architectural paint, giving them rough textures that feel like stone, concrete or dried lichen. Pre-destruction is a recurring theme for T-Generations, reflected in both the eyewear and the campaign visuals.
T-Generations Are continuing to make pre-destroyed highly textural eyewear in 2025 and we will be showing in Milan in February, 2025.
Thank you =)
